2013 Off to a Running Start
My first run post of 2013, I’m super motivated following my first 5K race where I hit a new PR of 23:11. Today I found my way back to Lincoln Woods, which has a great scenic road that loops around a lake. There’s lots of hills, which have caused me some leg pain in the past. The run today was great, might be my fastest pace here, but I could feel some leg pain coming back. I need to take it easy with this pace, I really shouldn’t come here more than once a week…at least until I build my legs up more.

List of Lighting Apps for iOS / Android
Here’s a great resource I want to pass along for my techie friends. Really, anyone who workings with lighting equipment will like this.
Todd Proffitt, a blogger who writes about Theater lighting has compiled a massive list of iOS and Android apps designed to help with lighting and stage direction. The list is organized by category covering a wide range of subjects including:
- Reference
- DMX Calculators
- Gobos
- Remotes
- Stage Directions
- Knots
- Beam Calculator
Currently, the list is available as a GoogleDoc Spreadsheet, which you can access here: bit.ly/theatreapps
What a great resource! I first heard about Todd's list on Leo Laporte's national radio show, "The Tech Guy". In the future Todd hopes to share this list in a different format, but I'm just happy he decided to compile and share what he has now.

Year End Running at Lincoln Woods
Great run today at Lincoln Woods State Park in Lincoln, Rhode Island. I started off slow as I navigated the snow and ice. Once I got comfortable and warmed up, the run was really enjoyable. The snow yesterday made the park picturesque and sunset just added to the scene. The park was nearly empty on my second lap around the lake, peaceful and quiet.
I’ve run 155 miles since August, when I started to keep track using the RunKeeper app. I’m hoping to peak out at 160 miles before the year ends.
