Broadcast Pix Paves Way for Voice-Activated Productions with New VOX Product : Sports Video Group
Broadcast Pix has announced VOX, a new product for cost-effective live video production that works with any Granite, Mica, or Slate system to produce voice-activated video productions. VOX eliminates the need for an operator during live productions, as it detects which microphone is being used and uses sophisticated software to switch to an interesting camera position and add appropriate graphics.
VOX can be used for government and corporate meetings, interviews, video coverage of radio programs, and other productions with multiple microphones, and can be used for television broadcasts, Internet streaming, and in-house projection. VOX will be available worldwide in December 2011.

Ripley Falls 2011
I’m starting to go through vacation photos and video from our trip to the White Mountains in New Hampshire.
This photo of Ripley Falls is one of my first attempts at HDR photography and I’m somewhat happy with the result.
Click on the image to view a high resolution version on my Flickr page.
Ripley Falls is 100ft tall and one of the easier hikes in Crawford Notch. Â A great adventure for a family with young children. Â We brought our two boys, 5 and 2 1/2 and they did just fine on the trail.

Leo Laporte Fan Photo
[jwplayer mediaid=”105″]
I’ve become a big fan of the Twit Network and Leo Laporte‘s approach to tech news. Â They have perfected the laid-back, conversational tone that engages viewers. Â Most importantly, they offer amazing content…smart guests and in-depth discussions on a variety of topics.
A friend and I thought it would be neat to take a “fan photo” during a recent TV production we were working on.  The photo features big rubber exercise ball chairs and the Twit logo.  Why exercise balls ?  Well, Leo has become known for using a stability ball instead of a traditional chair.  Leo sits on his ball for 20+ hours a week as he records the various podcasts  the network produces.
In May of 2009 Leo’s ball popped while streaming live on the internet, it’s a hilarious video that you need to watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9A7ACL_n5Y
So that’s the deal with our fan photo.  We posted a link to the photo in the Twit chat room and Leo checked it out just before his national radio show, The Tech Guy.  I love Leo’s expression when he sees the photo…he seems to be saying…Who the heck are these nuts!
