4K Footage of Foxborough Common Flag
Here is some footage I shot recently on the Foxborough, MA Town Common using a Q500 4K Drone. You can see lots of local landmarks in the background including Bethany Church and Gillette Stadium.
A community group was recently formed with a goal of replacing the rust-weakened flagpole. This video will be used as part of an studio interview program that will raise awareness of the flagpole condition and the fundraising effort underway.

NASA to Launch UHD Channel November 1st
NASA is partnering with Harmonic, a worldwide leader in video delivery infrastructure, to launch NASA TV UHD, the first ever non-commercial consumer ultra-high definition (UHD) channel in North America. The partnership is the result of a Space Act Agreement between Harmonic and the agency’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.Using an end-to-end UHD video delivery system from Harmonic, NASA Television will have the capability to deliver linear 2160p60 video content, allowing viewers to enjoy footage on a wide range of television and internet-connected devices. The new UHD channel is expected to launch on Nov. 1, following preliminary tests.“
Partnering with Harmonic gives NASA an outlet for its UHD content, which has four times the resolution of HD and is the next iteration of digital television,†said Robert Jacobs, deputy associate administrator for NASA’s Office of Communications at the agency’s headquarters in Washington.
Leveraging the 8-megapixel resolution of UHD, the channel will showcase the breathtaking beauty and grandeur of space. NASA TV UHD video will be sourced from high-resolution images and video generated on the International Space Station and other current NASA missions, as well as re-mastered footage from historical missions.
Harmonic currently is in discussions with pay TV operators to carry the channel on the satellite, cable and optical networks for consumer access. The channel also will stream on the Internet, which will require at least 13 MBps access connectivity to receive the signal and enjoy the UHD experience.
“As NASA reaches new heights and reveals the unknown, the NASA TV UHD channel can bring that journey to life in every home. And as organizations at the forefront of innovation, together we are leading the adoption of this exciting technology,†said Peter Alexander, chief marketing officer at Harmonic. “As the leader in UHD development, Harmonic provides a complete solution for Ultra HD video production and delivery, enabling content and service providers to offer better video quality at a low total cost of ownership.â€

HeadsetGate Is Not a Conspiracy, Explained
Last Thursday night (September 10, 2015) the Patriots opened their season at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers. During the first quarter the Steelers coaching staff reported problems with their headsets. “Patriots Radio” bleeding was impeding their communications.
In the wake of deflate gate this “technical problem” stirred up instant conspiracy theories and pointed questions directed at the Patriot organization.
For the geeks out there, the ones willing to understand, listen to logic and reason, you need to check out this blog post from Alex Milne. The blog post is a bit long, but offers an in-depth explanation of what most likely happened, from a technical perspective.
Some possible explanations
A poorly grounded audio or power cable in the wired portion of the intercom system that lives in the coaches’ booth, and connects to the wireless cart on the field, acted as an antenna (anything made from metal can be an antenna), and picked up The Sports Hub radio network.

Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island Mansion
June 2015 – A view of Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island Mansion from the adjacent public beach. Located in the town of Westerly in the coastal village of Watch Hill.
The double fence and large sea wall visible in the photo are fairly new. Taylor Swift spent several million dollars renovating/constructing the wall. There was a bit of controversy over the sea wall, here’s a local Providence Journal article that explains it was all completely legal, but frustrated some.
The day we visited the area there was at least one security guard roaming the grounds. You can see him sitting near the flagpole on the right-hand side of the photo.
Taylor Swift spent approximately $17.75 Million in cash for the property in 2013. According to USMagazine.com the property is 5 acres, 65ft from the ocean and the mansion was built in 1930.
